Blackbaud ID (BBID)
Your Blackbaud ID is the email address that you use to securely sign in to Blackbaud solutions and services. You use it to access Support resources and to view the Blackbaud ID profile where you manage information such as your email address, organizations, password, and multi-factor authentication settings.
-
On the Blackbaud ID sign-in page, select Sign up.
-
On the sign-up page, select how to authenticate your Blackbaud ID.
-
To authenticate through Blackbaud’s secure service that works with any email address, specify your email address, a password, and your first and last name, then select Sign up.
-
To authenticate through a social sign-in, such as Apple or Google, select Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. This option uses the social sign-in's authentication requirements, password resets, and other needs instead of Blackbaud’s secure service. For more information, see Apple Authentication or Google authentication.
Note: If you received an email invitation, you should use the email address where you received it.
-
-
Check your email for a confirmation email. When you receive it, follow the instructions to confirm your email address.
After you confirm your Blackbaud ID, you can use it to log in to Blackbaud resources and solutions. We recommend that you log in to confirm that the Blackbaud ID and organization are correct. To access your Blackbaud ID profile, you can either sign in to your Blackbaud solution with your Blackbaud ID and select your profile under your initials or you can sign in to your Blackbaud account and select Blackbaud ID profile under your name.
-
To access a Blackbaud ID-supported solution, request an invitation from an admin at your organization.
-
To view your Blackbaud organization admins, from the User Profile page, on the My Organizations tile, select the menu for your environment, and then select View organization contacts. To identify your organization admin, go to your organizations and view the admins under Organization contacts. For more information, see Organization Contacts.
-
For information about where you can sign in to with your Blackbaud ID, see Supported Solutions.
Note that if your organization enables single sign-on, we redirect you to sign in through your identity provider when you enter your email address on the sign-in page.
First, double-check the email address associated with your Blackbaud ID. If you don't find the email in the Junk folder or inbox, your organization's email server may have blocked it. Have your IT admin:
-
Ensure the email server, proxy server, and firewall permit email from:
-
@blackbaud.com
-
@blackbaudondemand.com
-
@blackbaudemail.netcommunity1.com
-
-
Whitelist this Internet Protocol (IP) range on your email servers or network appliance:
-
205.139.104.0/22 (205.139.1 - 205.139.107.254)
-
On the Blackbaud ID sign-in page, you can select Sign in, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google. When you select Sign in, you authenticate through Blackbaud's secure service, which works with any email address.
Note: If your organization enables single sign-on (SSO), you sign in through their identity provider instead of Blackbaud or a social sign-in.
If you prefer to authenticate through your Apple ID and rely on Apple for authentication requirements, password resets, and other needs, you can select Sign in with Apple.
If you prefer to authenticate through Google and rely on Google for authentication requirements, password resets, and other needs, select Sign in with Google. This is especially useful if your organization uses a Google domain for its email addresses.
Tip: To verify whether you have a Google domain, try to sign in at account.google.com. If you sign in through Google, we recommend you:
-
Enable Google Multi-factor Verification for an additional layer of security.
On the Blackbaud ID sign-in page, you can select Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google to authenticate through a social sign-in. If you signed in with Apple or Google but want to sign in through Blackbaud's secure service instead, select Turn off Apple authentication or Turn off Google authentication on your Blackbaud ID profile. When you turn off Apple or Google authentication, you receive an email at your Blackbaud ID email address to reset your password to meet the requirements of Blackbaud's secure service. For more information, see Apple Authentication or Google Authentication.
If you forgot your password, no worries; it happens!
-
If you sign in through Blackbaud's secure authentication service, you can reset your password. On the Blackbaud ID sign-in page, select Forgot password, enter the email address associated with your Blackbaud ID, and select Send. Check your inbox for a reset password email, and follow the instructions to reset your password. If you don't receive the reset password email, check your Junk folder. For more information, see Password.
-
If you sign in through a social sign-in, such as Apple or Google, change your password through Apple or Google.
-
If your organization enables single sign-on through an identity provider, contact your IT admin for help with your password.
If you sign in through Blackbaud's secure authentication service, you can also change your password at any time. For example, make sure to change it if you think your account was compromised. To change your password, go to your profile and select the edit button for Blackbaud ID and then select Edit password. For more information including the password requirements, see Password.
While your email address and password help secure your Blackbaud ID, you can increase security with multi-factor authentication. Multi-factor authentication enables your Blackbaud ID to require a unique verification code that you receive on a personal device in addition to your email address and password. If you can't sign in with multi-factor authentication, or have an issue with your verification or recovery code, see the Multi-factor authentication (MFA) FAQs page.
