Connect an application
Only users with the Marketplace admin role in Blackbaud environments can connect applications. To learn more, see Permissions to connect applications

From the Blackbaud Marketplace application directory, browse the available apps and select the app you want to connect. The application details page appears. From this page, we recommend you first learn more about the application.
Then, to connect an application to your Blackbaud environment, select Connect. A screen appears with the terms and conditions. If you agree, select Connect again.

If your organization wants to connect an application that's not in the Blackbaud Marketplace, you can with the application ID. For example, if a developer in your organization wants to develop a custom solution you can connect the application to just your organization's environment.
The Application ID is a unique identifier for the application. The value is not sensitive, so developers can safely provide application IDs to Blackbaud Marketplace admins so that the admins can then enable the application.
The application ID can be found on the SKY Developer My applications page. On the My applications page, the developer opens the application and selects the copy button for the Application ID. The application ID can be found under the application name.
Then, a Blackbaud Marketplace admin selects Connect app on the Manage page. Paste in the provided application ID and select Connect. The application connects and provides a getting started link.

Enabling an application is just the first step! Next, you'll want to reach out to the application publisher to follow their set up steps and if there's a cost, you need to arrange payment with them. No payment is given or promised at the time you connect, it just initiates your interest in that application. When you contact the publisher for next steps, if you have questions about what data it requires access to or how it works, include those questions.

If an application has an add-in, the add-in will immediately show in your solution. However, when it appears it doesn't have permission to perform any actions with your data until a Blackbaud user authorizes it. SKY Add-ins are web applications that run external to the Blackbaud host applications, so while they look like they are a part of our solutions, they are in fact an isolated iFrame that enables our partners to add value to your organization's unique software needs.
Note: If an application wants to access any of your Blackbaud data, they still have to request consent. Connecting an application does not provide consent. Consent is provided by each application user and respects the permissions assigned to their Blackbaud user account.
